Yes, you can. But our pieces may be scattered around Adelaide in different storage facilities (the listing will always note the suburb location). They may also be located in our home. For this reason, appointments are needed. Please be aware that our furniture has the potential to sell online prior to your appointment time, as we do not hold without payment. Having an appointment time does not mean the item is being held for you, however we will always try our best to keep you updated prior to your arrival. If an item shows as "out of stock" online then it has been sold. Furthermore, multiple storage locations means we do not have the capacity to show you everything you see on the website at the same time. We cannot offer a "come and browse" appointment. Please only make an appointment time if you are specifically interested in a piece. If you are strongly interested in multiple pieces please ask us so we can advise if viewing them at the same time can be facilitated.

Yes! If you order online it will be held for you until you're ready to collect or receive delivery. We often have customers who are moving to a new home and are still waiting for the keys. Your order will be safe and waiting for it's new home just as soon as you're settled. Please note - We don't hold furniture without payment as it is not fair to others who are willing to pay/ collect immediately. In addition, we have limited storage space available.

We do have AFTERPAY available at the checkout when completing your order. No private payment plans are available.

If the fault can not be rectified, a refund will be issued. This refund offer pertains to faults that were apparent at the time of purchase only. If your furniture becomes broken after pick up or delivery has been made, refunds will not be entertained. We reiterate the importance of the following - The items sold through this business are secondhand and in some cases over 50-100 years old. Small, immaterial imperfections are to be expected. Every effort is made to ensure the customer is aware of the condition of each piece presented online. It is important to read the description and inspect IN PERSON if aesthetics are of concern to you as almost all secondhand pieces will have some.

We generally don't accept COD unless you have viewed the item prior and we are confident you are happy with it. We do not provide delivery so you can view the item. COD arrangements are offerred at our discretion but generally are not an option we offer.

The Ruby Room is certainly a labour of love and it is not our intention to accommodate the masses. Customers often ask why we are continually out of stock and the simple answer is "quality over quantity". We have tried catering to Adelaide's demands on a larger scale but it just wasn't our cup of tea. Things can get missed and quality can drop. We prefer to work on one or two pretty pieces at a time, as well as waiting for our sources to have the best pieces available for us to snap up! Sometimes we may be otherwise engaged as we also hire full art installations for Adelaide events, so it may be that we are busy creating beautiful immersive displays for a weddings, wineries, parties and alike. (enquiries welcome). Rest assured we are busy making something look pretty and that doesnt always reflect in our online stock. We are a small family owned and operated business so our stock is always limited and in high demand due to our quality, attention to detail and low prices. No, we don't have a commercial storefront. Our pieces are located in various locations around Adelaide storage facilities, as well as some in our own home and can be viewed by appointment only. We are predominantly an online only business.

Most of our furniture comes from display homes or private sellers. We are not a normal secondhand shop where furniture is brought in by the truck-load and a price tag is thrown on it. Each piece is checked over, repaired if needed, cleaned, measured and catalogued with love.

Yes, Ruby Room Adelaide is partnered with Catherine House and a portion of each sale is donated to their cause. Catherine House provides crisis, longer term accommodation and support services to women experiencing homelessness in South Australia. As South Australia’s only homelessness and recovery service for women, their work deals with the immediate issues created by homelessness and assists women in planning a future that helps them sustain housing and build purposeful lives. Catherine House offers person centred support and Trauma-Informed care, focusing on clients’ existing strengths and knowledge. They accommodate up to 60 women experiencing homelessness per night, and provide an outreach service to women living in the community.
